Mary the Virgin Church (+ Tower) and Turf Pub

After the school visitation we decided to pop into one of the churches (Mary the Virgin Church) as well as to have a marvellous view of the city from its  tower. It was worth more than £1, 000, 000!!!

A view of Oxford from Mary the Virgin Church Tower

The best way to end the day is to drop into a pub! And there are perhaps tens and tens of them in Oxford, each having a funnier and weirder name! We chose to go  to the oldest one  - from the 12th century- called Turf Tavern ( the one B.Obama met marihuana once)! As our teacher Geraldine had recommended us beforehand we ordered a jug of pimms ( a special summertime drink  with a bit of alcohol, fruit, cucumber and mint). To be dead honest, we got  neither hammered nor slaughtered, not even wrecked or legless! We were just happy to enjoy ourselves and feel the real  feeling of Oxford!
